About

Just a girl in love with Jesus who is looking for Him to show up daily.

Here’s a copy of the first post for those who are wondering what this blog is all about…

In the last two days, I’ve received three blessings from three different people. Like literally. The kind where they affirm you and pray God pours certain things into your life. Three very different people, but all three blessings asked that I would hear God more often, more deeply.

Last night, Charlotte went as far as to ask that I wouldn’t just see God in my coming year, but that He’d show up in a special way every day.

Wow. That’s the next 365 days. I found myself asking the Lord, “Would You really do that? Could You really come through for me that many times?” Then it occurred to me that He’s already been showing up 365 days a year. I just miss it.

So I’m claiming my blessing. I’m going to look for Him and expect Him to show up in a special way. And when He does, I’m going to write it here. Every day.

Why? Mostly for the anticipation of His coming and the discipline of looking for Him. But also because we might be able to journey together. If He shows up for me, He’ll show up for you.

So here’s the deal:

  1. It’s going to be real. I refuse to make up any hyper-spiritual sounding B.S. just to save face. If I miss it and He seems far away, I’ll tell you.
  2. Special may not mean pleasant. It may be messy. It will probably get personal. You’re warned.
  3. Anything counts. It doesn’t have to make sense to you. If God uses it to talk to me, it goes in. I’m fully convinced that not only does He give me His word, but also He knows how to intersect my life and use various things to speak my heart’s language. (Yours too.) He uses both. If you have qualms about something, post it. Or call me. We’ll talk.

Hope you’ll look for Him with me. Day One to be posted shortly….

What a great idea! You are RADICAL!!

A few years ago I started keeping the Sabbath (rest, and focus on the Creator God…and no work for money) on the day designated by God in the Bible – the seventh and NOT the Roman Catholic first.

No one else I knew did this…or does. They all go shopping or out to commercial establishments. (Satan has done a great job blotting out God’s gift here.) So I realised that Sabbaths were going to be mostly me alone with God. I thought: “What if He doesn’t show up for much of the day…or at all, I thought? What if I don’t hear Him when He does? The whole thing will be very lonely and empty.” A bit like you might think: what if there are days or weeks or months when I don’t ‘hear’ anything distinct from God?

Well, let me tell you that 7 plus years later the Sabbath is a day I look forward to every week. And it always ends too quickly. God is always felt to be with me. He speaks just as much as I am open and able to listen – about today and about tomorrow. I love the rest, and there have been periods when this has been a life-saver. The whole thing is far, far better than when Sunday was the ‘day off’, with little sections (like the morning service) consciously given to God.

So, dear friend, as it seems you are already finding, God WILL fill the blank page that you have offered him. Hope you store the conversations permanently in your computer memory so that you can look back and see the journey you have travelled with him.

    Blessings and brotherly love

      Dear Richard,

So glad you have a similar journey! I love walking the Christian life with you – even an ocean away.

Blessings and sisterly love back! :)

      P.S. – I take “RADICAL” as quite a compliment from you! :) :) :)
